Tim Fitzgerald

Hailed by Downbeat Magazine as a “Wes Montgomery Scholar and Visionary,” Tim Fitzgerald has been traveling the world lately. In 2023, his trio played to sold-out clubs in Istanbul, Turkey and Athens, Greece. In 2024, they sold out clubs and festivals in Korea (Seoul, Daegu and Jianjiu) and Beijing, China. This summer of 2025, they’re returning to Korea and Japan.

This touring comes on the heels of Tim’s record, “Tim Fitzgerald’s Full House,” which was on the JazzWeek charts for over 20 straight weeks starting in 2022 and features new arrangements of Wes Montgomery material, including arrangements of Wes’ iconic chord and octave solos. Tim also received a grant from Chicago’s DCASE and the National Endowment for the Arts for this record.

Tim shares his passion for this great music as a professor of jazz guitar at Lake Forest College and has performed masterclasses for the Chicago Jazz Festival, Frank Mantooth Jazz Festival, Northwestern University, and Seoul Music High School in Korea, among many others. He also teaches at Tritone Jazz Camp and has written for DownBeat Magazine, Just Jazz Guitar Magazine and Chicago Jazz Magazine

He is thrilled to join the faculty this year.
